So…About Me

I’m a passionate, accomplished financial leader skilled in driving operational and financial performance.

Talking about myself is not easy. More important is what your team or project needs and how I can contribute to that. I do understand that one of the keys in a great hire is evaluating “fit”.

So…let’s start with a short story.

As a young, hopeful, high school graduate, I got on a bus to Austin, Tx with a suitcase and $137. When I came back to Dallas, Tx. I had a BA in Economics and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. I spent over 15 years working my way through the Fortune 500 in operational and finance roles without losing my mind or my integrity (knock on wood).

While that was some years ago, the story highlights qualities embedded in the core of my soul. These are qualities that translate well into business performance.

passion
desire to grow, learn, get better
tenacity
humility
problem solving
intellectual curiosity
working without a map

Over the years, through a number of financial positions and life experiences, those qualities have become sharper and deeper.

Athlete

I’ve completed a full marathon, over a dozen half marathons and numerous 10K’s and 5K’s. I do obstacle course racing (mud runs). The entire process is exciting to me – from researching training protocols and the latest technology to evaluating the latest gear. I love training and competing.

commitment
discipline
high energy

Zen

I started a meditation practice several years ago. It’s a daily part of my routine. Contemplative activities like meditation and mindfulness produce a sense of peace, equanimity, clarity and compassion. It means that every day, I show up, I’m present and ready to perform. It means that I can effectively manage competing priorities and multiple activities. Meditation also fosters a sense of humility that’s conducive to a “beginner’s mind” approach to problem solving.

clarity
focus
calm in fast paced, fast changing environments

Legacy

Humans are more alike than different. We’re all connected. We’re all responsible for making a contribution and leaving a legacy of service and support. There are primarily two organizations that I support with time and money.
Kiva.org connects people through lending to alleviate poverty.
Back on My Feet is a national nonprofit organization with the mission of using running to create self-sufficency in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.

collaborative
servant leader attitude
show up and contribute

So…a short synopsis of the woman behing the resume and the impact that I can make on your team.
